i must post a big well done to Dennis for placing 6th in the Standard Class on his 1st attempt :yay:

the fact that a team actually places is already a plus, as a few others were unfortunate and DNF but i was there throughout and i must say it was not easy.

all in all it was a great event :bigwave:

WELL DONE!!

DENNIS & SONNY.....

Great achievment for a 1st timer, and a sick driver, on such a high-ranking event!!

Keep it up!!

erm guys not to burst the bubble and innaqqas min denis' achievement because it is still a brilliant effort from his part but the results have somehow been uncomfirmed because there have been some mixup with the names...

Miskin Kola slept 4 hours between fri and sun allura i think that he mixed up a bit...

the results should be out soon... I hope that denis turns out to place better in the new results

ah.. one cannot not mention the achievements of our friend Baskal... especially when he slept on the horn and woke up everyone nearby without actually waking up himself...
P.S i got this from denis so any incorrectness is not my fault  :)

hehe baskal is one of those characters without which AWDC would be rather boring....

one has to admire the guy imma... i mean let's face it he has the cukki to try everything and when one considers the limitations of the vehicle heqqq... plus alla ghalih hux hehe...

in the trials hehe charlton was covering his eyes because Baskal was scaring the life out of him... and this coming from a modified driver hehe..
ifhem i admire people who navigate with him... i would not be in their shoes for all the money in the world hehehehe

Thanks everyone!

It was really really really really really (you got the point right?) an amazing experience. Ok there were a couple of very worrying and uncomfortable times where I felt like quitting, which was certainly fueled by the fact that I was sick. But thank god I continued because in hindsight I haven't enjoyed my vehicle so much since ages! Sure I bent my umpteenth bumper and got a little dent in my door but I guess it's a little price to pay for having so much fun. Those trials were almost orgasmic. Whether I really placed 6th or 12th doesn't really matter! I placed 1st in fun :D

Thanks go to Duncan (for everything!), Stefan, Kola, the guy marshalling during the trials (forgot his name but he helped a lot and gave me courage), all the marshals during the night raid who almost froze to death for sure, my unofficial backup Chris, my navigator Sonny, Kaci and Gremlin the scrutineers for closing an eye about my handbrake (won't happen again I promise), all the new friends and internet friends I got to know (bonnet team, cilii, reiny, etc etc etc), Baskal for pulling me out of the hole I fell into, Edward for all the stuff you gave me and the rope (sorry I got it a bit muddy... needed it! :D), Paul and Edward for coming to watch a bit, Baptist for helping with my tyre repair on Saturday morning, Baptist and Stefan the rangy guy for their words when we reached Daniel's marshal point, my landy for never complaining a single bit despite giving it hell and falling into a hole, BF Goodrich for designing and making my tyres which are like claws on rocks and mud and still perform great at TDi speeds on the tarmac, and last but not least my offroad teacher Daniel aka IL-LIVELL!!! You know I wouldn't have got anywhere close to taking part if you never guided me offroad the first time and made the bug bite me. I got some more courage to go on when I saw you in front of me at your marshaling point after the worst part of the experience (passing through that hell with 3 and a half wheels).

Anyway.. thanks to EVERYONE... you know who you are!

Experience '06 might see me again... in a much more prepared state ;)

Nighthawk (Dennis),
I appreciate your thanks but next Experience you will have your teacher as your competitor...... if I'm still living here, that is ;)

In the meantime no need to thank me, while I was 'teaching' you I learned a lot myself and had you not been a very good 'student' you wouldn't have got here just the same!!

Well I do intend preparing my landy for Experience '06. Vehicle protection is high priority. Front diff guard is done. Rear diff guard is on the drawing board (rockslider style), steering guard and those indispensible side pipes are next. And those reinforced trackrods. I'm sure I'll be prepared well for it and now that I know the rules better I might actually fare better too.

Maybe the "student outperforms his teacher" scenario will present itself ;)

Well Done Dennis!!! We talked a lot about the experience at work but this is a formal forum well done :):)

And hope you get better placings when they correct the results....

Joseph
