Hi,

I recieved my waffle borads the other day from swansae 4x4.

(Thanks alot, they were great)

and had to mount them. As i finished my DT project at school a week early as well i had time to quickly knock these up.

Bent some 2 mm steel to the shape and welded the rear brackets on.

then welded some 3 mm steel on the back to strengthen them up.

Bolted down to the floor. i used 5 bolts which is a bit over the top as iv stil got to paint them but it shall take me about 30 mins to actually get them off!!!!

To secure them in i have put a 150mm coach bolt in and tightened it up. This has crampt them in.

To secure them to the vehicle aswell i have a chain and pad lock.

When off roading i shall just take the chain off and undo the bolt to finger tight so they are easily accessible or take the bolts rite out and put a piece of bungy over the top.

Pics below.

Yes i did remove them in anticipation of TB reposting them in a resized format.

At the end of the day if you want the forums to carry on running as fast as they do and reduce page loading times sacrifices like this have to be made. We could always enforce a size limit and maximum storage of images per person, just think of the comments we'd get then.

The holders do the most amazing thing of holding the waffle boards and the waffle boards

they are a sand ladder, bridging ladder all combined. Used for any thing from putting down to get traction, making a bank less steep so you can get up it.

Putting over small ditches (small as there not very long)

I use them for my off-road course and shal soon be using them to drive up the bonnet of two cars. Got one. just need to find another, or crash my fiesta!!! (il try find another first)

Umm, why? Sounds like a strange way to break something on the 88.

Make sure you fitt some kind of barrier between the waffle holders and tub (rubber or butyl liner), and isolate the washer on the underside from the tub panel with Tiger Seal or Mastic or you'll very quickly have a problem with electrolytic corrosion.
