Gas or Diesel? That is the question. Having found an excuse to rejoin the exclusive club after more than thrity years (Series 2a LWB 2.6 Diesel Hardtop), I am in something of a quandry. The TD5 sounds nice and I've heard good things about it, but the price of diesel is climbing and the environmentalists are muttering into their organic mead about 'particulates'. The only alternative - for an almost off the peg Disco - is the 4 litre V8 with a gas (LPG) conversion. Has anybody got experience of either or both in terms of reliability and useability? The economics of the gas version seem good (for the moment) and the claims for emissions are excellent, but how true is it?
