Hi all,

Well we'll be in BC in June for a fact finding trip in preperation to our move next year.

Were arriving in Vancouver on the 4th. We'll be stopping in the city for a day or two, then on to Kamloops, Salmon Arm, Revelstoke, Banff and then to Calgary for a transfer to Toronto. A couple of days there and then home on the 18th.

Will post our confirmed itinery a little closer to the time but we'd like to meet up with anyone who's around then for beers & a chat.

Cheers,

Andy, So how do Salmon Arm & Revelstoke figure into the equation? Is there a tie there somewhere?

And when you say you are going from Calgary to Toronto, you do mean you are flying, right? It is one H--- of a ways to drive. Worth while mind you.

Once when visiting in England, someone we met said they where planning on moving to Canada. They were going to live in Toronto and the husband was going to commute to Edmonton for a job he had lined-up. I don't think they knew it was a three to four day drive each way.

Of course, someone else said, "I know someone from Canada. Do you know____?" Just about knocked my socks off! We did know of them.

Hi Greg,

One of our main priorities for moving is to get out of the 'rat race', with the equity in our house we can afford to build/buy a house and have no mortgage at the end of it. Job wise we quite flexible, the wife is an electrical design / CAD engineer who could work from home and I'm in discussions with a company I deal with here in the UK for a sales position once I get there with there Canadian distributor. So, where we live is more a life style issue rather than job focused. We want the rockies, log home and in winter be close enough to ski resorts so we can go boarding every weekend.

Salmon Arm & Revelstoke look nice on there websites, we need to stick a pin in the map somewhere. We've already spent time in Vancouver and don't really want the city life but things aren't set in stone and that's the whole idea of the trip in June.

Cheers,
