Evening. This is my first post so a little about myself. I've got a '76 yellow s3 which has seen better days. I stay on the Isle of Skye and spend all my spare time working on the landy. It currently needs a new chassis. The salt air up here has a taste for steel.

Hi Andy,
Welcome to the forum! :bigwave:
Isle of Skye eh... never been myself, but always wanted to. There something quite mythical about to the place , in my mind. Maybe I'm just consumed by the romance of the Skye Boat Song - on of my favourite Brass Band themes.

I really loved Skye when I camped there one summer. I went on some lovely mountain bike rides - but what is the off-roading like there???
I even had a week of sunshine:)
Hello Andy, fellow newcomer BTW!

Hello Andy, fellow newcomer BTW!
Hi
At the moment off-roading is gentle due to my chassis being a little eroded. Its really needing to be replaced soon. very. I have a couple of things I want to do once its replaced. like maybe driving up the McLeod's Tables. A route shall have to be planned firstly. I know a couple of gentle beach drives (short but scenic). Certainly if you wanted to find truly difficult stuff to do it wouldn't be hard to find.
Skye is a great place when it is dry.

Don't believe everything you read in the papers, especially the Herald  ;)
reported that foresters had been cutting down trees
That's their job isn't it? :p  Who was it, Randolph Hearst who said, 'Dog bites man isn't news. Man bites dog is news' :D
and trying to kill baby red squirrels... was that anything to do with u bernie.... ?
No we like spotting them, not killing them ... I'm a conservationist me, there are several species of moss and fungi growing on my Landies ;) :D

There was a pic of the poor wee baby squirrels... looking somewhat dazed. Apparently they fell quite some distance before coming to rest.
Haven't all landies got a strange moss and fungi growing on/in/under them.. I though it was a part of standard kit.
