Vickie, what's the best value digital camera, in your expert opinion. The reason i ask is cos i am thinking of replacing my fuji finepics 2200

Depends how much you wanty to pay, and if you want a zoom. What resolution is the 2200? we've never sold that one, I think it was exclusive to Dixons.

I assume by resolution, you mean megapixels. The fuji is 2.1 megapixels, whatever that means!!
My pal has a camera that does stills or a short video.
That was the sort of thing i was considering.
Not too dear though!! £3to400ish??

The video thing is all I miss with my "Kodak special". I'm surprised it hasn't got one as my mate's cheapie, £38 from "bid-up tv has!
Not moaning, more puzzled.

If you've already got some smart media cards it would make sense to stick with a camera that takes the same, Fuji or Olympus.
The Fuji Finepix 2800, is a good buy in that price range, 2.0mg pixel, 6x optical zoom, video with sound. If you're not too bothered about changing card type, for a about £100 less you could get a Sony P50, 2.02mg pixel, 3x optical zoom.
