I'm going to Oz!!,
Because of something I posted over a year ago on one of these forums, I started up regular e-mail contact with Des & Carole (66 Landie), We talk Regularly on Yahoos Live voice and about a month ago they invited me (& Tony, but he doesn't want to go) to go and visit them, so that's it, I'm off the end of this year, to be shown the Outback in their Disco and play in their 2A. Yipeeeeeee!!!!:D :D :D :D

Oh Nice one Vicky!!!
If Tony doesnt want to go then I will go in his place. :D
I am sure that both Alan and Mark will suggest that they could be Mr Vicky for a couple of weeks instead but I am younger and thought of it first. :D :p
After all you wouldnt want to be stuck in Oz with an "old fart" or a "GIT" :D :D :D
Greg
Aw-Gee Vicky,
why settle for 2nd best? - another 1200 miles and you would be in NZ. :)

Greg,
I wonder where they've gone, I expected at least a snide remark from one of them:rolleyes:
Ash,
Do I detect a slight case of friendly rivalry there?
Jon,
I will be in Des' safe hands, I'm sure he can kill a crocodile or two if needed ;)
Gidday Vicky,
No, no rivalry really..... Although I was married to an Aussie - a maggot that stayed for 10 years, then took off and took 1/2 of everything I earned over the previous 30!
I have a son in Labrador in Queensland, but although there is beauty in Oz, I had spent the bulk of my life in the mountains and rain forests of home, and when I was there, I always missed these.
You will love the place. If you leave the cities behind, and head into the interior, it is a land of vast emptiness.

Gidday (gotta start learning the lingo;)) Ash,
Sounds right up my street, I hate cities and built up areas. Des & Carole have arranged some great places to take me, with plenty of photo opportunities. Deb my daughter spent a year travelling round OZ a couple of years ago and intended to do NZ too, but didn't even see all she wanted to in Oz as she ran out of visa. She loved the laid back way of life, and does intend to return, although she's too old for a working visa now.

I enjoyed the bit of Oz that I saw in the Melbourne area about 4 1/2 years ago when I went to have a look at cremators. Didn't get time to do much sightseeing though, will try again soon.
the Botanical gardens in Mel are really good.

Peloquin,
Can you not pick up one of these on the World Wide Web? :D :D :p
MMMmmmm
I remember a house in Bimbadeen Ave in Woolongong,
got an infestation of funnelwebs in the basement. The owner worked in the mines, {Coalcliff?] and brought home these unwanted guests.
Looked kinda unusual, a house in a giant plastic bag, while it was being fumigated.
I would think, that on a scale of one to ten, these would rate pretty close to 10, on the insect least wanted round your domicile!!!
