Just spoken to Brooklands this evening. Pre-press work is now complete on COMBAT LAND ROVERS PORTFOLIO 1 and it should be back from the printers in plenty of time for the LRO Show at Peterborough in September. Copies should be available a little bit earlier direct from www.brooklands-books.com .
This book is basically a compendium of my first 32 or so Military Scene features from LRM and is done in the same style as the LAND ROVER MILITARY PORTFOLIO. i.e. monochrome reprints of the articles with eight pages of supporting colour plates. It will be 140 pages thick and A4 sized.

Look forward to seeing it Bob, price known yet? Did any more copies of Military Land rovers that you and James Taylor wrote sometime ago ever turn up? I still keep looking - but no luck so far.
Cheers

Peter,
I think the new book will probably retail at £12.99 as it is the same format and thickness as the Land Rover Military Portfolio. Brooklands try to keep their books in pretty precise categories, aqnd they try to keep the price as low as possible to ensure that most will eventually sell out.
Have not seen any copies of MMLR for quite a considerable time now, but I'm sure somebody must be hoarding a box or two.

Peter,
I was looking for a copy of Bobs 'Modern Military Land Rovers' a couple of years ago, and after the best part of a year trying all the well known (and the not so well known) book shops etc etc I was on the verge of giving up and had resigned myself to never getting a copy when I happened to buy a model Land Rover from Dave Mitchells Landcraft shop (LRE model shop now, but was the LRM model shop then) and in with the order was a leaflet/catologue and it had a book section and lo and behold there advertised was 'Modern Military Land Rovers' and even more amazing was that it was in stock!!!
Thats how I got my copy, just a case of right place, right time I suppose? I know it was a couple of years ago but you never know they might still have another copy stuck away in a dusty corner somewhere???
