Ever since Kai from Norway sent me this picture I thought this is what I want for my 109, the complete roof or the hatch. I'm a phtographer and i could really do with one of these. does anyone know where to find them???

Annete,
As far as I'm aware, only the Norwegian 109" hard top fleet had this particular roof. It was primarily designed to give an escape hatch if the vehicle became bogged in a deep snow drift, but it theoretically also allowed the passenger to give air defence cover in an emergency. Although a small number may still be in service with the southern command, the vast majority of these were replaced by mid wheelbase G-wagens from the end of the eighties.

Bob,
thanks for your interesting reply. I thought they could have been used mainly to actually see something through binoculars over vegetation etc with dry feet, but I never thought of a snow emergency exit!
In the meantime, Kai has sent me a reply, too. He says everybody who has an ex-army 109 wants to get rid of these roofs, because they seem to be leaky. He may consider selling his, if I can organize a regular hardtop for him. That should be easy enough.

So if anybody else is interested, we can contact Kai and ask him how many would be available in his club.
