Anything that would power a 110 considered!

No 12Js please - a little slow.

No 19Js - I don't get on with them.

Anything else, petrol or diesel, please let me know.

Have you checked Ebay for some Rover V8 units?

Thanks.

I keep looking at EFis on e-bay. I've even bought a bell-housing to mate with a V8. If I don't find the right diesel soon, I think this could be the way I'll end up going.

Nick I can put you in touch with a chap who can get complete Disco engines with everything to drop in for around the £800 mark, don't know how much you want to spend.

I'd offer my V8 but my best mate has just got first dabs on it. :(

No, the thread is about engines. Maybe he's swapping the engine in his 2A.

I know that Rogers have 2 spare Tdi200s, complete . You could speak to Mark about them (01234 348469, select "2" then "1").

Will do when it's in.

Want to find out if you can match a LT85 to a Series transfer box. I think it will still be too long though.

Hi Mate i may have what you need,

Can still be started up for another few weeks,

A 2.8 diahtsu, complete with fitting kit for a v8, has engine mounts, modified exhaust (albeit for a range rover)
V8 bell housing adaptor plate,

I has a pas pump, and thats about it, it is a good rugged derv, this one is a low millage one, and was fitted the the RR just before i bought it

Let me know if yor interested by pm, and maybe we can arrange a viewing starting, and a price,

But lets say, somewhere around the price for a coveriosn for something else

Thanks, Owen, but having agonized about this for months, I've settled on a 200 TDi. It shouldn't be any harder to fit than a 19J and I've already got a Fearne intercooler and pipework in the engine bay, so I wouldn't even need to fit the 200 TDi radiator/intercooler unit.

If I were you, I'd put your stuff on e-bay. Good luck in selling it.

Rogers are in Bedford, so not next door. One of their 200s needs a new piston and a hone on that bore (may have been done by now), but is apparently otherwise a good one. I don't know what's going on with the other. I'm sure they'd give you a good price and could arrange transport, or you could try the pony express! As I said, they are complete.

although reserve is 700, which is a bit steep

i think you can do better than those with a complete scrap vehicle though.

Thanks Snagger,

Millsy has been e-mailing furiously for me and has put me on to a couple of possible leads. If I draw a blank I'll give Rogers a ring.

There's one (I don't know if one of your URLS points to it) that sounds almost too good to be true. 40,000 miles because the owner left it in an airport carpark for seven years!

You know the saying; "If it's too good to be true..."

The advantage of buying the Rogers ones are that you'd be buying from an LR specialist, so they can tell you exactly what's going on with the engine, and if they turned out to be knackered, you'd have much more come-back than in a private sale. They're very good at Rogers (no, I don't work for them, but have become very friendly with their staff).
