Having met some of the forum users over the past week ..how about a meet weekend ...

some ideas ;
How Big ?....Scottish forum or could we extent it to our Southern cousins

Aug /Sept ?... dates to be discussed

1 day or 2/ with camping ...

Venue...Well Nortrak could easly be arranged ..But if the numbers support a weekend ,,I could find out about a possible "CORRY PASS "Drive ..on the Sat/sun...

This is only an idea at the momment ..but it would require help in setting it up .....So what do you all think ???

Last year a forum meet was suggested in the Ripon area, but due to circumstances :p didn't happen.

I think a meet in the Peak District would be best - simply 'cos it is in the middle of Blighty of course - nothing to do with the fact it is on my doorstep ;)

cheers, Tim

It would be good to organise a get together. We'll certainly be heading up to Nor-Trak again, and will try to make it a day when others from the Forum will be there.

A camping weekend based at an off road site makes sense, however I can appreciate that there is a maximum distance folks would be prepared to travel (3 1/2 hours to Aberdeen is about our limit, although we can also go 3 1/2 hours south).

Something in the Borders would give folks from both north and south the opportunity to come, only problem is the limited off-road potential here.

Cheers.

Have you ever looked at a map and seen how far the Borders are from the South??? The South is a hell of a long way from me - and so are the Borders - so the South is zquillions of miles from the Borders

Err, yes, you have a point! When I said south, I meant south of Newcastle! Not "The South" as in "of England"! I suppose I should really have said "The North and Scotland"!!!

Cheers.

ps my head office is in Burton, which is only 4 hours from here, mind you, that's in a Golf, not a LR!

Well what about a South Forum meet then?Funny you should mention that because i've been toying with the idea for a while now of arranging a weekend out in Wiltshire as i know one or two oyhers would be up for it. Just need to get a pesky operation out the way first and then maybe i can eventually get round to sorting something :)

Steve,

Positive reply from me Mate. I'm keen & will provide help with the arrangements too.

How about something towards the end of the summer school holidays, allowing anyone with kids who may be going away, have the time to get to the venue.

We could also do a press announcement in some of the 4x4 magazines.

I would also recommend doing it at your site. Good facilities and camping/caravan sites very close by, as well as a good selection of B&B's that with enough interest may attract some favourable discounts (Tight fisted Jock that I am)

where is his site?

There must be enough Scottish (residents) members to have a decent get together, so how about central/southern Scotland? If its near the motorways or A9 shouldn't be that much more hassle for anyone coming up from south of the border, and Scotland is a great place for a holiday anyway!

Hubber asked if anyone knew about this new pay and play site, and it turns out Jamesetta (Steve) runs it, based near Stonehaven. And from personal experience, I can say it's rather good fun! Pics posted on other threads in this section from our visit last weekend.

Cheers (and maybe see you there sometime?!?)

ps and here the web site

Sounds like a great idea guys, I know I'm still a bit of an unknown newbie on here, but there seems to be more jocks on here than any of the other LR forums!
I would be happy to join in providing of course that I have a Landy by then!
