Hello everyone......
Anyone knows about a good deal for an original Defender 90 roof rack?
I don't wanna buy a 'sealed' one as I don't wanna pay that much!!
Obviously, must be in Malta/Gozo!!!:p
Thanks.
Daniel
It depends on how much you want to pay.
I know someone who had one made in Malta, a very proffesional job it is too.

Any chance of a price tag? And i guess its not sun roof friendly ux?
Insomma.. I might stick a roof rack, just above the cabin.... I find something similar to the width of the Defender, hopefully some universal thing. Ideas anyone? I might try asking some fuel stations whilst going round.
Sorry for the thread hijack dborg...

I've got one similar to the one Dennis bought at the 4x4 show. all you need to do is to modify the brackets that clamp to the water gutter. And obviously paint.
Price lm0 and hurry if you want it because i'll throw it away:D
reason for giving it away.......total change in plans of a project;)

Guys, I appreciate your offers but I'm not after the shape of the original roof rack or a very good roof rack......I just want the original equipment built at the factory of Land Rover! If it's slightly modified I'll accept it but it has to be ORIGINAL :p
Sorry for being a pain in the neck but that's what I'm after!!

A roof rack is certainly not going make performance any favours. Fuel consumption will suffer too. Is having a roof rack so important? I mean, do you REALLY NEED IT?

no :D
i got a brand new one with ladder - came as an 'extra' with the landy - looks good in the garage but takes space

Why should I? Mela, they don't do them anymore?
It could be from someone who doesn't want it any more after all!
And, Rein, yes I do need it!! I know it's against all odds to have it but a host of very valid reasons require me to have a roof-rack......I've opted for original and I'm not turning back......the only reason why I'm asking for a second hand not because I want an old one but because like that I may be able to get it a bit cheaper while still in good shape!!
Thanks once more ;)
well if a standard roof rack is good enough i dont blame you opting for an original one, although expensive u still got the advantage that not alot of ppl have an original roof rack.
the one i need has to be different as it has to accomodate a ladder, beacons etc. but if i had the money and a normal roof rack would suit me fine then i guess i would consider an original one.
but as i said, knowing it carries the land rover badge on it, its gonna cost $$$$

Olo, I don't mind paying a bit more, that's why I'm looking for an original but 2nd hand. If I had the money I would have simply gone for a new one.
If the right one hits the road I'll get it!!
dont blame your decision then :)

Good idea Cil...if you refer to BGs, last time I did business with them was way back 4 years ago when i bought the landy and they fitted the PAS.
I'd appreciate if you PM their no.
Thanks again!

Kieku i get a roof rack... i`d have an excuse to take my canoe out of the garage.... i dont have a carrier and i used to take it around with my bro, on our shoulders. It is not small.. . but i could easily tie it down to a rack.
Thinking twice... i could make sure to modify the rack to have two half moons so it stays firm.. with decent padding. Naghmluha kif suppost ux.
Totally off topic... but would the Gozo Channel leave me on the ferry with the canoe on the rack? Is there a maximum height? ( off to their site in the meantime)
