various advice needed please...

Hi all, I need some help please

I have been out in my Disco today and found a few little things that need sorting....

1) Heated windscreen, how does it work ? when i put the rear demister on the front does nothing... does it need its own switch ? or what could it be? where are the connectors so i can check its wired in.

2) my ventilation ducts all seem to pot.. does anyone have a rough diagram of where all the hoses go to / from ??

3) I have found a small vacume type pipe lying loose under the dash on passenger side.. whats it for ? looks like the sort of pipe used on my old prelude to control various heater controls

my car is a '91 TDi, but it has had a dashboard fire and has a loom from a '93 (or so I was told). I'm pretty sure the heater was swapped and I think there is a water leak (rain water not coolant) any advice on where that might be ?

I want to try and get this fixed before Rochdale on Sunday...

Can't help much but....
The pipe you have found sounds like it may come from the tee piece near the brake servo, there is a small pipe from there that goes through the bulkhead on the passenger side, I've not found out where it goes to yet. If your brakes are poor on tickover this not being connected could be the cause. Mine was split at the tee piece and it affected the braking on low revs.
