LT77 + Transfer box question

After taking my 200TDi off road the 'box makes a right old clonking noise... I think its the centre diff.. hence the transfer box, I have a decent one on a R380 box...

are they swapable ? if so how easy ?

or anyone got a cheap box and transfer box ?

Is it the 'box or the rear axle ball joint?

Judging by the other gear type noises I doubt it the ball joint.. will double check, but I'm sure the problem is one of the boxes...

A better option to look at doing would be to replace the gearbox and transfer box in one go. Fit the R380 gearbox into the Discovery as it it a lot better as a unit. With the transfer box check to see if the gear has been replaced with the cross-drilled type on the output shaft at the rear of the transfer box. This will help against premature wear and failure of the mainshaft of the gearbox by keeping it lubricated.
