I'm starting a new thread, cos I'm not sure if its throttle response or auto box.

When i first start up the Disco it only has tick over after playing with the throttle it starts reving.

The garage fitted a new air flow meter and its stll not working, I said to them what about the pod thing on the peddle, they said they had spoken to Land Rover who say the pod either works or not at all. Land Rover say its the oil or filter in the auto box. The garage don't think thats the problem and i don't either. If it was oil or filter it would not drive, but it will even on tickover.

What do you think, this is driving me daft now :rolleyes:

Simple diagnosis.

1. Does the vehicle rev-up in Park or neutral:
yes = go to question 2
no = electrical problem

2. Does the vehicle rev in gear:
yes = no fault found
no = gearbox or torque convertor fault

this is not a gearbox problem its deff an engine fault.there has to be faults stored that will help trace the problem ask the garage for a printout of all faults and an estimate

Have a look at my update on no throttle response. It may not be the same thing but its worth a look.

Took the Disco to my dealer Lakeland Landrover after spending time going through the process of ilimination they found out that the garage who did the head gasket had got the engine timing wrong :(

It now runs and starts ok coming back from Coniston last night it was flying :)

Have sent a fax to the garage who did the head gasket out lining what was wrong and that i will be looking for reimbursment in full for Lakeland LR invoice plus my time.

Will always use a main dealer in future :( lesson learned
