Back on Mature levels... I think this would be good Idea, we've got Jasper (I think) going to Greenland and us lot to Malaysia, so it might make a good section in the Lanes area.

Yes seriously, would be a good idea, and im sure there are people that have things that people would never of thought of about a expedition, and would be a good place for people to go when thinking about it!!

I think that is true. There are sections for parts of the world, vehicle-specific sections, etc, and also let's face it how many members are actually involved in an expedition at any given time? 'Twould be a very quiet section, methinks ... :dunno:

I think the "lanes and regional sections" of this forum pretty much covers what everyone needs and is more "regionally expedition" specific to area's being travelled though.

as for preparation and planning, I think that is best in the regional section as this is directly related to the regions, plus makes it easy for people to find that are interested in these parts of the world. For vehicle prep, keep it in the vehicle type sections.

And yeah who goes anywhere anyway!! :D Most people just bold on loads of stuff and occasionally park in the muddy end of a car park!

Seriously though I was having a conversation with a friend last night about why so many people build up their landys and kit them out to the point its ready to take you around the world but then never leave the country they are in!

Other than those who build up a weekend off road vehicle to play around in with no intent on camping or travel who has gone abroad?

Well, here's my two pence worth............

I think it would be a great idea to have an Expedition section.

I think those lucky folk who do go somewhere abroad and those others who would love to go somewhere abroad given the opportunity (and that's just about all of us) would find it informative, interesting and maybe even motivating!

"Land Rover" and "Expedition" fit in the same sentence - and as Bernie is a real nice guy I'm sure he could find a wee corner for this topic to fit in the best LR forum in the business.
