Hi Steve.
Was straightforward but getting the botls on the halfshafts was very hard when the came off they were tight and when going back on were a major pain to the extent that one thread was stripped so will be a new hub needed now but sure it will be fine for a good while.
Cheers.

Hi guys.
Well had it back on road for one day and the clutch fork broke pin went through the middle of it.
So got box out far enought to change the fork and put back in was very time consuming as tried to take off tranfers box but it wouldnt come. So its back in need to put everything back together and try bleed the clutch. Never done this before and heard it can be a cow so lets hope for a bit of luck.
Thanks for the offer of help might take you up on that if it dont play the game. Suppose the worse should be done and it wasnt to hard just bloody heavy but hey cant complain my learning curve just went verticle

 Your lucky it aint a series landy............you had to remove the whole bloody interior just to get the box out of em...............im dreading doing the clutch in mine..........lol
As for the rest of it.................well im damned if i can find a replacement axle........so it may be an extensive rebuild and a welding job to the front of the casing which has now decided to spew EP90 out all over the road..........:shakehead
On second thoughts .............maybe i should just trade it for a j**P!!!!

Kev will a 90 Axle fit? If so I should have one for next week. I did intend keeping the diff but sure we could come to some arrangement. I relise that the 109 is leaf sprung but sure something could be done to alter it.
Miranda now has a clutch which disengages just got to put her back together now and hope all is ok. the thrust bearing is pretty noisey but that shouldnt cause much probs. bleeding was a cow. And kev took out the floor transmision tunnel ect but next time would remove the seat box think it would make it easier. And hope next time will be a while away.
Best wishes

Hi Rod,
Apart from the obvious spring difference, something tells me that there is a difference in the width of the axle to give the later models a wider track and better stability on road. However, ill investigate and get back to you.
However.............whilst i remember..........ill still have first dibs on those sill panels..........and any other bits that come to hand........engines gearboxes etc etc etc......................;)

Hi mate.
Thats cool Sills are yours. So far Sills, seatbox is sold. Planning on keeping most mech and electrical parts for spares at the mo. Engine is ******ed. So for sure up for grabs is roof, sides, chassis, probably bulk head. wheels, starter altenator, injection system, poss radiator. When I have it stripped will ken what I want and whats spare. And hey will try helps out mates as much as I can with any bits.
Oh got Miranda going again but not going to shout it from the roof top this time must have given my self bad luck.
Besy wishes

Hi kev
Seats are pretty worn. I intended putting the passenger seat in mine so it does go forward when I brake. You are very welcome to the drivers and middle one but need to put a seat cover on it.
No truck cab Im afraid. do you ken anyone wanting a rear tub want to get it out the way as it will take up a lot of room.

EBAY ROCKS!!!!.............lol

It seems there is a god after all...............i managed to pick up not 1 but two axles for the 109 today from a guy up in elgin............long way to go but hey........for 40 quid the pair and a thrown in set of door tops and a minted rear 2nd row bench seat i would say i scored!!!..........only concern is the axles came out of a ser 3 lightweight, but apart from changing the backplates for the brakes and minor things like that i dont think itll be much bother.
mind you............i did have the thought of fitting both axles and getting a pair of rangey diffs!!!!.............;) .................but thats for the future, right now ill be glad to get it back on the road!!!

OK ..........so there is a god..........but no-one told me he was the devil in disguise!!!!!
While stripping the replacement axle to do a major overhaul i discovered that the L/Weight front shafts are completely different to the 109..........looks like ill have to strip the 109 axle to rob the Swivel end of both halfshafts to fit to the new axle.
Life's never simple where the 109 is concerned!!!!...............but hey........at the end of the day ill have a better axle, caus the L/weight has extra strenghtning webs across the front of the casing to give protection............so im expecting it to be damned near indestructible when its finished...............:D
