So there we were, on an expidition in western Zambia when we came accross a river, but alas, no bridge..... after a few hours of exploration we found an old broken burnt out bridge that took 6 hours to fix and managed to get our 143" Double cab across. After returning we thought "there must be a better way", so jumped on the net, asked many people and nobody seemed to think it would be possible to float a fully rigged expedition land rover.
WE DID IT. hardly got the drivers floorboards wet. 1 hour to set up, attach, cross, detach, deflate and pack away.

Excellent pic, i've seen a similar thing with 44 gal drums attachet to a toyota 2.4d pickup in my home town in SA. Just shows you : An African always makes a plan.

Nou hoekom so... My mother tongue is German AND I had to learn English and Afrikaans and French and Latin at school... So die engelse kan mos nou Afrikaans leer as hulle wil weet wat aangaan. Soos ek moes leer. Buk, seun, drie van die bestes...;)

Good effort! Lets have more pics of your 143" double cab. Is it a 130 double cab with a 110hicap tub on the back?
Got tired of banging my knees, if you are 6'4" the LR world is too small.
I took a 110 Hi-cap, stretched it by 930mm, put in a second "front door" which I squared off (same as the 147), put a double cab roof on which I stretched by 110mm and built waterproof, non rattling roofhatches.
Then I put the Hi-cap tub on the back with the same offset as the 130. Double shocks all round, some more spring here and there.
Reinforced the rear chassis similarly to the wolf military vehicle.
Auxilary fuel tank under the rear seat and with a bit more work I will have a very usable expidition vehicle.
Boys must play

Yum yum! I'm also 6'4" and the truck cab is tight, but raising the seat pad an inch has helped. I thought about a 130, but the tub is too short for sleeping and dirtbikes. 110 tub on the 130 with a smaller kingcab is possible, but then you can onlt take midgets. Yours is the way to go, but what about turning circle and offroad?
