Ok, so I lie under the damn LR in rain fitting the new exhaust , It is a pattern part but I was wondering this:
The old system has the stamp 'Land Rover ESR 2208 Catalyst 27/99' on the main box, and 'Land Rover 2207 27/99 on the rear box, the pattern parts say nothing on them.
Does this mean the exhaust I have bought is non catalyst?, I thought the cat was on the down pipe from the engine which did not need replacing.
Can anyone put me mind at ease?

Your right ,the Cats are in the front pipes, Put the system on and off you go,Bought mine from Paddocks as well,Those numbers stamped on the originals, are why they're about £300 more from L/R :)

hi folks,

sorry to intrude, but subject is on my mind at the moment.

Our 96 ES V8i front section of the exhaust (were it meets the middle section) has rusted and corroded to the point of it not being able to be re-patched any more (has been done once upto now)

Have had a quote of £628 for a replacement item, but as far as we are aware the cats in the current one are fine. hence our reluctance to spend a stupid amount on bits we don't need

any one now of any were much cheaper to get this replacement, or anyway around this problem (MOT failure with it in this state, MOT due in couple weeks time)

cheers
Gary
