200/300tdi difference

does any one know the difference enginewise on these 300 so much quieter refined apart from front pipe, rocker cover sound pad is there any other difference, i cant see any ? bilge rat.........

You mean enginewise! Ummm pretty much all of it is different!

The difference is that the 300 tdi was made after the 200 tdi

didn't want to get too technical.. lol

did you know the td4 in the freelander has nearly the same power and torque and the td4 is only 2.0 litre

i got a copy of LRO lying about somewhere where there is a feature on these engines, there are quite a few differences ! lots of internal differences like the oil pump drive etc. i'll find the mag and let you know matey.:)

Power wise they are basically the same.
At first look at the engine as you say the top cover is noticeable.

There is also the turbo on the 200 it is positioned different and is not integral with the exhaust manifold.
With the 300 the exhaust assy of the turbo is part of the exhuast manifold.
I think also the pulleys are configured different too but not 100%.....Hope fromthe little I know that helps.... ;)
