when changing the centrifugal filter, the filter cap screw holes become compressed by the screws and therefore the hole is smaller and tends to grip the screw, be sure to file or drill out the holes otherwise you can strip the threads in the main body ouch!

Martin, I changed the centrifugal oil filter in mt TD5 last year and it was a very simple 5 minute job. The only tool I needed was one single 10mm ( or so ) socket. Hence the reason I'm queeerying your advice about drilling ??

Same 5min job for me, didnt notice any problems... TBH I'm not quite certain of what the problem would be - difficulty removing the 2 bolts?

it's good to know you have not troubles, I have recently aquired my td5 and I find some person has overtightened to cover screws, hence my original statement trying to warn you guys of this problem,
