What have I done? After many years I am back with an old Landy. Just bought a 1980 Series 3 with a Daihatsu 2.8 Intercooler stuffed in it. What a hoot!!! Noisy, bouncey...and so are the kids in the back of it! I don't anticipate it will be a cheap vehicle over time, but hey!...what price fun! We're taking it out for a nighttime picnic tomorrow...kids are going to sit on the roof to eat...just hope I remember they're there when we set of back.

The Daihatsu lump is......bloody good fun so far! Not particularly quick as you'd expect ( not topped 55 yet ) but fun getting there. 2nd gear pulls like a train from standstill to about 25/30 and has surprised quite a few little cars so far. Not had chance to go properly off-road with it yet but that will come soon when we head to the cottage in Wales where there is plenty of fun to be had. Will report back in due course as to how the lump performs then.
Thanks for all your welcome messages...I'm as slow as the Landy with computers so postings may be few and far between.
