Earlier this afternoon Alan let slip a big secret about his true relationship with diesel engines - I'm pondering whether or not to publish it in LRM, or to hold out for the big money which the News of the World pays for exclusives like this !!!!! :hahaha:

Oh yeah, Bob, which issue of LRM had the Marshall 130 XD? I seem to have missed an issue. The latest one I got has the Saluki write up.

Made it back from Donington. In truth a bit disappointed, managed to spend a grand total of £21. :( Got nothing on my shopping list. In all honesty, it was not worth a 700 mile round trip. If I lived an hour or so from Donington then I might consider going again but the trip from Scotland was not worth it.

Also missed Alan H (some might say i escaped lightly) :D :D, but spoke to him on the phone.

Stephen,
For f###'s sake give us a chance! Magazines are not as instant as the web and it takes a minimum of three weeks to get an article into print, which could mean almost seven weeks between taking the pix and seeing the article in the first available issue, dependent on time of the month, so to speak.

lol, I thought I saw you say it was out already (which I did think was pretty quick :D).

Did you see any of that 'Are you mental enough to be in the SAS?' at the weekend? I liked the line "70% of the SAS are made of Scots. That's a fact. It's because we're all hard *******s". :D

I really am disappointed in Bobs’ attitude here. I entertained him for quite a time, passing on information that will, no doubt, make him a much richer person after he twists it to suit some far fetched “How I supported the SAS in the jungle” tale in some magazine or other. During this period, he managed to wheedle liquid refreshment from me at not inconsiderable expence, after coming out with the tried and well tested “poor journo” speil that obviously works so well on poor, gullible members of the public like myself who feel sorry for such a figure of eloquent repute. I was introduced to “Chas” Carroll and “Mike Manifold” the writer of the Country Garage bit in LRM and I thought that my day was complete. Did I get a drink bought back or even ask for such a thing? Nay, not a one, even though had I been asked, I would have refused knowing what Bobs’ carefully explained financial situation was. Then when I manage to get on the forum to post on such an enjoyable occasion, I find that I have been maligned to this extent – I may never recover from the trauma.
I won’t attempt to defend the scurrilous untruths that have been alluded to, I feel totally betrayed by a person that I thought of, for a short time anyway, as a friend. I won’t stoop to putting things on here that were told to me in confidence by his favourite lady (Cathy, his Boss). Or even putting things on that Bob himself told me in confidence, some of which were so unusual as to sound almost, well, unbelievable.
However, I might just make some things up instead.
