Just swapped the old sealed beams for new halogen headlights, and found some more of the Nortrak Swamp in the head light bowls.
I'll pop it in the post Steve!!!
You could put it in a Jar and sell it as souvenir or christmas gift for the true off road fan!!

SORC TYRO was great. Hope you all had a good time at Nortrak.

I pass through Longtown about once a month (heading south to the M6), but haven't seen "OIL" about!
Cheers,

That would explain why I hadn't seen it yet!
Don't think it was us on the M6 (although I don't always know what Mrs Ye110w is up to!!!). If I'm heading south it's generally in the company car (black Golf).
I'm dead keen to go laning, although there seems to be a distinct lack of green lanes in Northumberland, where I've been looking. There is someone who "lists" in the events section of LRO who does a green lane trip from Hexham to Alston, which would be good.
We do a lot with SORC, but their events tend to be based in Central Scotland (we had a two hour drive home tonight after the TYRO we did today), although we are trying to get more stuff organised in the Borders.
The other place to check out is Ae Forrest near Dumfries, which will only be 45 minutes from you. Some of their stuff is pretty extreme.
I'll let you know if anythink is kicking off.
Cheers,
Ross
ps When do you get to drive "OIL"?

Did it not freak you out at first having the ability to see in the dark in the landy, I could imagine it being like opening your eye's on a roller-coaster and going arhh:eek: Had lots of Nortrak swamp pore out the heater vents so you can imagine the smell with the heater on!

Cheers Ross. erm...don't actually got to drive Oil till late april next year...well im 17 on the 28th of march and hope to pass my test by end of april!! So just in time for summer!! Can't wait. By then Oil should be pretty off road worthy!! 2inch lift...all terrian's...diff guards (providing my mate can get me some Qt ones) steering guard...CB...hi-lift...and some other bits and bobs. And by then i might have my dad's 3.9 EFi RRC 5 door!! If i can twist his arm and afford insurance (which ins't likely!!)

Well, it certainly made a change from "using the force"!
If you've got "Nortark swap" in your heater vents, make sure you check your radiator. Ours was totally caked up after we went through it, and required cleaning with a lot of water to get it clear again! And make sure you send it all back to Jamesetta. He awfully possessive about his mud!

If you can't get the QT's, there's a guy on e-bay sell's very similar wrap around type guards for about £40 a pair + postage (about £12). I got a set for the 90 and they are up to the job.
Sounds like "OIL" will be some truck by the time you're finished!
Ye110w, I'm fortunate there is a farm on my way home I do alot of work for and he's spot on so I can get in there and give the whole car a good blast before everything is dried and caked, can see right thru the radiator after the wash, got to be canny though it runs around 1600 psi and plenty of water so woud happily strip paint or flatten radiator fins. Last year I picked up the tdi with a rope round the bumper and washed one end then picked the back up and washed the other. Mind you I have washed both his hire Muck spreaders and that took me 3 days! Got to be a bonus somewhere:D

Thats what i'm aiming for mate...why do you think i work for LR gonna show them what a real landy can do and what a defender should look like!! hehe!!
Plus i can get cheap parts, but not any good stuff lol!!

Just got the new LRO and there is a good piece on lanes in Northumberland. I have noticed some of these lanes on the OS map, but they weren't marked as BOAT's. Have actually driven part of one in my car (it's a long story, and was to do with my job...). Might be a plan to organise a day to explore them....
Or we need to sort out something in the North Lakes?
What sort of event's do the Ae folk do?
Cheers,
Ross.
