1994 Diesel Disco Knocking noise

Hello all

Some time ago you people were able to help me diagnoise a problem with my non moving disco which has now been fixed. As predicted a new cv joint and half shaft. (Not too expensive too)

I now have a new problem or two.

First of all a high pitched sqeeling noise, which is more or less constant, (fanbelt?)but perhaps more of a problem a knocking noise, I think from under the vehicle. I don't think it is engine related, as the knocking is present when coasting and is not there when parked. The speed of the knock seems to be related to the speed of the vehicle.

I know this is a bit vague and I am not at all mechanically minded, but does any one have any sugestions please

I would say both noises are caused by the same thing - a worn propshaft UJ. Use a screwdriver and try levering apart the two yokes in each UJ. If there is any movement between them, replace!
