Hi all
Looking to change pads soon all round and thought I would change the scruffy discs while I'm at it.
Took a quick look to get familiar with the components and have a question regarding the caliper and disc bolts. Mine seem to be splined affairs, 95 300TDi ES auto. Is this normal or have they been replaced at some time with something non standard???
Any help much appreciated, cheers spud

Splined headed bolts are normal on the brake calipers, I have heard it is possible to undo them with a good ring spanner but you pays your money and takes your chance.
Halfords or Machine Mart can supply sockets to fit.

If they are 6 splines, they are Torx or TX, 12 splines on the outside are normal double hex sockets.

Just changed my rear discs and pads, a normal socket fitted fine, and alot of force was required to break the threadlock without any damage to the bolts.

Aha they would seem to be torx type bolts. Anyone know the right size so I dont have to buy a set of em???
