Hi All,
My name is Simon & I live in Shropshire! :bigwave:
I brought a V8 Range Rover 2 years ago & have spent the last 18 months & a great deal of cash getting it into serviceable condition!
So I am a bit of a newbie rearly. I plan to use the RR for green laning & the odd fun day so any advice on vehicle modifications would be appreciated.
Also if anybody local that knows of any lane's that can be used please let me know! :)
All the best & have a great Xmas!!!:santa1:

Hello and welcome.
Don't know much about RRC mods, but there's plenty in our club and even the standard ones go pretty well. Get out there and enjoy getting it muddy.

Hi Simon , welcome aboard.
I use my Rangie for laning, only mods I did were: remove spolier (actually removed itself first time out!) fitted steering and front diff guard, sill bars, and a rear diffguard (not fitted yet).
I also fitted a set of mud tyres.
It is great on the lanes, comfy and capable, does get scratched a bit!
May lift it but I am considering selling and getting a Defender or Disco diesel.
Do love the V8 though.
There are loads of lanes in our county, I have been a couple of times with mates from the S3 club (used to have one).
We have also been up to Wales once where we did the Strata Florida.
Ther are lanes around Wenlock Edge, Church Stretton, Corvedale and into Wales.
If you look on the laes section there are some others who have posted.
We are hoping to go out again in the new year.
There are fundays each month at Buildwas near Ironbridge and also Farley Quarry also near Ironbridge, have'nt been for a while though.

Hi,
Thank you all for the warm welcome :)
"Geo" I live about 20 miles from Shrewsbury in a small village close to Newport.
"Dave Sumner" Thanks for the info! So far I have fitted diff guards & a steering guard. (I have also removed the front spoiler before it removes itself!)
I have also replaced the rather corroded alloys with a set of silver modulars & next year plan to put a set of mud's on it.
I will see how it goes & maybe give it a 2" lift! But I would like to get some use out of it as I have spent so much time & money on it
But it has been a big learning curve & I think I have seen most of the vehicle as pretty well every pannel has been off it for one job or another...
As for Buildwas I have heard several tales about that site & the general view I have got from different people is that it tends to be used as a race track by people with scrap yard specials!
Farley I have been told is better & the enterance cost of £35 tends to keep the racers away!
Last month I went with a few friends to "Hill 'n' Ditch" at Delemere which was not a bad site,it could just do with a bit more work with a digger to add a bit more to it! After a couple of hours you have done most things several times over & if you got a few in there it would become a little crowded.
With any luck Dave when you go out laneing in the new year I might well tag along with you all! It would be nice to meet some local 4x4 ers!
All the best...

I agree with you on Buildwas last time I went there were too many idiots, Farley is better, but laning is more fun and free, hope to go out in the new Year so will keep you posted
Happy Christmas and New Year.
