So what do you fill up with then?
If Bio-diesel then where do you fill up, are you satisfied with it, what type do you buy and how much is it?
You can vote for as many as you like, for those of you with more than one vehicle! ;)

Hi Geo,
Unleaded for the V6 Freelander and Bio -Diesel for the Disco II Td5.
I get my bio from "Bio Diesel UK" in Standlake in Witney near Oxford and run virtually 100% the majority of the time, except when I'm away from home or the weather is turning cold then I mix it 50/50.
To run diesels on bio without any long term effects to pumps etc, you need a good cook. Stuart Holmes at Bio Diesel UK is your man. At 86p.p.ltr. the stuff is absolutely first class, it's as close to EN spec as is possible which makes it safe for VW/Audi, Citroen/Peugeot and BMW/Land Rover engines. I've now covered 11500 miles with this stuff.
Advantages, engine runs quieter and smoother, (cetane value is higher than std diesel) lubrication is far better resulting in longer life for pumps and injectors etc. Better emmissions.
Disadvantages, can gel in really cold weather causing engine to run lumpy for a few seconds on first start up and Stuart has only the one filling station which means when I'm away from home I have to fill up with ordinary to get me home. Oh and the smell...it's not unpleasant...it's just that it smells of a burger van and you end up feeling peckish all day long.

Cheers Uncletone for the very helpful info. I have only come across one landy owner before you who is running bio-diesel (StrangeRover i think) and he rates his bloke highly too, though his smells of toasted nuts!
I was talking to a mate of mine last night and he said that there are plans for a Bio-Diesel plant up here on Anglesey. It is having petition problems at the minute though!
I got my own plant, does that count, and I fill up from home???...:p :D :p :D
Very satisfied and cheap?......:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D <-----...I can't put enough of those realy!!
Mine is 100% home brew!!

Mostly diesel in the toyota but I occasionally chuck in 20ltrs of Costcos finest veggie oil when I'm in the mood :D
If anyones interested in making there own biodiesel I have about 20ltrs of methanol outside which I would let go at a bargin price :p

Regular diesel with 20% Lidl, Netto or Aldi vegetable oil and a squirt of Millers diesel plus in every tankfull for the Merc and the Golf when I get a chance to drive it.
Have been running the Merc on this for 2 years, 45,000 miles now and no problems. Runs smoother, quieter and feels more powerfull. Even did a track day at Bruntingthorpe and gave some of the petrol heads a surprise till some w@~*er reversed into me in the pits with his BMW!!!
It does give off a distinct aroma, more noticable when it's cold, sort of like a cooking smell but a bit more industrial. Don't know if cars behind can smell it, never asked anyone.;)

Know what you mean Geo, I guess it's because it's such a fiddle isn't it? In my case anyway, got enough things to be messing around with, without fiddling around with biodiesel. Go to garage > insert pump > fill up :D Easy, straightforward, no hassle :D

LOL yeah far too easy mate. Well I am trying to sort out if there is anyone down here that sells the stuff, appears to be according to this site - Bio-Power (http://www.bio-power.co.uk/index.htm)
If you click on the UK Bio-power companies link at the top of the page you can see if there is anyone near you selling it.
I put in iather type of diesel. Basically, I get whichever.
Geo, the bio-power guy is based in Caernafon (yea, I can still spell it!!:D) and when I spoke to him last year, he tries to sell the stuff at around 5-10p a litre cheaper than ordinary diesel. This is for the direct alturnative to diesel which according to him could be used as a direct alturnative without modifications. I was going to try it but never got round to it!!
