Better than expected with lumps and bumbs cross axel stuff all ok but just dosent have enough ground clearnce in rutts good grip from the rear as its got yokohame all terains on the back but no sense of direction on the front as its still got the bridge duelers on the front.

Hi.
What size tyres are you using? I presume you have the 16" wheels. Also, how much hammer does the back silencer box get. I am worried that with the exhaust constantly scraping and bumping along it will do some damage to the manifold and mounts.

Standard 16 inch wheels no probs with the back box as it sit's higher than the chasis but would take care with entry exit angles with hills or mounds I did find going over mounds that it would scrap the under side a little but all is tucked up and out the way again.
As long as you take time to work out what its limits/capabilities are (and there better than you think Ive pulled a mini bus out of a ditch in the snow up on dartmoor with mineand crossed rivers a good 2 foot deep)you can have a good day off roading in it and still comute to work the next day. Its no were near as good off road as a 90 but thats not what a Freelander is about.

Rather woryingly I led a small convoy of 90's from Farnborough to Slindon as I was the only one with sat nav. But thankfully I was in the middle of the group in most of the pics in case I got stuck.
Slindon is near Bognor regis by the way.
