380 manual gearbox technical help please

I have lost 3rd gear in my 1995 disco The gearbox works fine otherwise with no noises or slop anywhere when engaging 3rd gear there is noone home hope someone can throw some light on what it might be

Not a common fault could be a number of things inside the gearbox. Did it jump out of gear prior ? If so may be worn dog teeth. Think you are looking at a gearbox rebuild.

it did not jump out of gear 3rd just wasnt there when i went to use it The Disco is fine driving could it be in the selecter

Does the gear stick come to the same position in 4th as it used to, or is it a bit further forward?
