I have a 300tdi Disco with blue smoke on start up which points to worn valve stem seals. Anyone know if it is possiblee to change these without removing the cyl head. This used to be possible on petrol engines by putting nylon rope down the bores via the spark plug hold and revolving the engine until the rope held the valves closed. Spring was then removed and the seal changed.
