thinking of taking this out is it made up like a catalyst as in knock it out with a brush handle or is it more difficult. can you cut it open and de stuff it or is it best to cut that section out and weld a straight peice in, just toying with the idea at the mo, wondered iff anyone has done it and weather the gain is worth the work . cheers alan.........

Biggest problem with the Monolith in the Diesels is it rarely gets hot enough to work properly. As you know, Alan, it is there to help burn up deposits of soot/carbon. Unless you do long runs, it just blocks.
It isn't a requirement in the MOT, a lot of people are taking them out. If it is blocking, I would cut it out and put a piece of straight pipe in.

cheers chris as i thought, is monolith some sort of charcole ?. landy doesnt go on many long runs. doesnt feel as though its blocking just wondered what the improvement would be. reckon might give it ago , cheers alan........

A Monolith is the name for the Porcelain Piece in the Cat.
