VIN Numbers

I have a 2000 (MY1999) Disco 2. I am about to order some parts via the net but want confirmation of the VIN codes for Disco 2's. It seems that the early ones have VIN nos begining with 2Axxxxx and later ones with 3Axxxxx. I am confirednt mine is the earlier but the VIN number begins with A2xxxxx.

Can somebody give me some confirmation. I used to have a link to a page that decoded the entire VIN number but, alas I've lost it.

Mine IS the early one as the numbering convention goes YA, 1A, 2A then 3A. Mine being a YA, precedes 2A.
