I need to speak to someone about some post I made here last year I need to get some dates from them as my freelander is once again at the garage for overheating and they are now blaming me for the problem even though this is supposed to be a new engine they fitted!Anyhow the post I made seem to have been removed and I was just wondering if they were in anyway recoverable?

Hi McDuff,

I think your posts are still here. Click on your username next to your post above, then click on 'find more posts by McDuff' - around about 21st October last year?

HTH :)

I just spoke with the garage that my freelander is in at.This is the 5th time its been in for repairs to the engine! apparantly the last time it was in it had a completely new engine! that was the begining of december it was fitted the engine went at the start of February! same problem overheating but after having the car for 6 weeks the garage says its my fault as they've had 2 engineers look at it and they say the car has been driven excessively! Bearing in mind that i bought it last Jun/July and have driven only 4,000 miles since then!
apparantly the pistons are broke the exhaust is blue etc.... and now the garage wants me to contribute to the cost of repairs!
I am waiting for them to call today to tell me how much they think I should contribute! I cant wait for the call!

Absolute rubbish!! These engines should run flat out for hours without undue effect! Overheating (on a new engine) is caused by either incorrect bleading or installation of the cooling system..........
