My local farmers corner shop is selling biodiesel (not really cheaper than standard as they are in the middle of nowhere) and I filled up a full tanks worth in my 300 TDi before i realised it was bio.

It starts much better in the cold and seems to run a little quieter...but can I expect any problems from it?

Cheers

Only the pump and filter system will have the possibility of problems. Otherwise, the rest of the engine is perfectly fine with bio-diesel.

You shouldn't have any problems. The only thing worth mentioning is that Biodiesel can be a very good fuel tank cleaner. Which means all the crap at the bottom of your tank my well get lifted and pulled into the fuel filter. It would probably be a good idea to keep a spare filter handy and if you intend using Bio regularly it might be worth changing the filter at short intervals initially just to be sure :)

when you say biodiesel is it 100% bio or a mix say 50% 50% or even 5% bio 95% dinodiesel sorry fossil fuel diesel if its 100% bio it has a tendency to turn into something like butter in cold weather so you might need to mix it with normal diesel (it has additives to stop it waxing up) other than that your diesel lump will think its a petrol and you'll help save the planet:)
