The Missus wants a Jimny. Should I get rid of her now?

No I'd keep her. As long as she doesn't want one with wide alloys and wheel arches:dog:
It may be wise not to let her enter in any trials against you with a Land Rover, they can be pretty useful by all accounts. You'll probably spend less time repairing it and it won't leak all over the road.
So why did I just buy a 90 instead of a Jimny?... I remember, not as much character, (see earlier references to oil leaks etc) , not big enough for two German Shorthaired Pointers and my kit for work. Other than that I did give it serious thought. There is a previous discussion on Jimnys in this section.

Agree with all comments about Jimnys.
Secretly I quite fancy the idea of her getting one - I hope she puts a snorkel and 2" suspension lift on her xmas list!
... then again where's the fun in owning a 4x4 that starts first time and doesn't dump oil on the drive way..

A real 4x4 with a proper transfer system. Pity we can't make one as good.

Thought I should let you know, there is a Jimney owned by a lady around the corner from me, and guess what, it leaks oil too!!!
Maybe these Japanese manufacturers are learning something from Land Rover after all.... :p

A mate at work had one, he traded it in for a 90. said it was crap for pulling a plough! (He DOES live on a farm!)
They are basic, like a Series, but more reliable. Suzuki engine/transmissions are usually very good. I would suggest that if you are buying from a dealer, ask for the previous owners address, he MUST provide this by the way, then phone the P.O. and ask why they sold it. I have driven the Santana Suzukis on many occasions, (SJ model really) and they are basic but good fun. 1.3 engine. Tried to get the "other half" interested in a Jimny or a Terios but she prefers her Metro or "similar". Ahh, well, can't win 'em all...........
