I dislike the traditional fruit salads because they contain unsuitable fruit, such as apples which remain hard, no matter how long it sits for.
My favourite is simply with strawberries or sometimes with sweet green bananas or kiwi fruit.
Here's how I makes it. The photo's were taken at lunchtime, as it takes twenty mintues to do, in preparation for dinner tonight. ;)
2kg of fresh strawberries, washed and roughly chopped.
4 tablespoons of sugar sprinkled over the top
Juice of 1 lemon, or 4 limes, or 2 blood oranges, depending on the acidity of the juice.
Mixed all together in a bowl and placed in a fridge for several hours.
Served with a sprig of fresh mint.
