As some of you may know from my other posts I like to fix things on the cheap, but some things need to be right, e.g. structural repairs and steering or brakes, well my latest disco has a worn steering box,

it has a definate clonk and a vagueness that can not be adjusted out, infact when assistant moves the wheel you can see play in the shaft that goes to the drop link. (not to mention a fair bit of fluid comming out of it)

Now I want a cheap replacement, live in Liverpool but willing to travel about 40-50 miles to get it sorted (North Wales / Manchester) , normaly do it myself but have seen plenty adds on e-blag for fitted boxes for £150 ish full G'tee etc, problem is they are all south of Birmingham !

Anyone have any leads for me? or even any spare good boxes ??
I want to get it sorted before I fit the steering gaurd.

Bare in mind the Disco is only my weekend fun car I drive a Toyota Avensis normaly and get the disco out for fun !

I got a recon box from M&M for £150 and a £150 surcharge that they get back your last one and its ok for reconditioning. There customer service was shocking but I havn't had any problems with it since and its not leaking.
I think paddocks are doing one for the same sort of money and it might be worth giving them a try. I think guarantee is the same on both of them.
