Hi everybody,
I'm a new member but have had both range rovers and land rovers over the years. None of them new and all of them moneypits, but something keeps making buy another one!

I recently lost my series IIA to major chassis rot, but sold it for spares, and for my sins about a month ago I bought a 90 2.5 turbo csw with 74K on the clock, regularly serviced and with sound chassis.

So here I go again, I already have smoke problems on first startup, and yesterday when there was a frost the smoking lasted a long time and was quite heavy. HELP! Please, does anybody have any ideas as to what this is? btw the smoke seems to be whiteish,

Regards to all

White smoke at startup in cold weather is nothing to worry about. It's fuel that condensates on the cold walls of the combustion chamber and goes out through the exhaust.

As soon as the engine gets warm it evapourates as it should.

Relax, "they all do that, Sir";)

Hi all,
Thanks to everyone for the welcome and especially to those who have put my mind a bit more at ease about my smokin' 90!
Regards
