Disco 2 V8 leaking...

...oil from LHD drivers side of engine.

Bloke thinks it might be PAS fluid! Do D2s use ATF in the PAS system cos he says it is brown not red fluid leaking!

Believes it might be the PAS pump failing but not sure!

Anyone?

Could be cold climate PAS fluid, cannot for the life of me remember what colour it is though, might be a greeny or browny colour!! Having said that...brown liquid doesn't really narrow it down much lol!!

Have just seen he's from Athens, Georgia, So cold climate PAS fluid wouldn't fit!

Lol yeah I know, I told him to climb underneath and see if he can trace it!

Is ATF used in non-cold climate LR Disco 2s then?

On DII's the PAS and ACE fluid is LR special and it is definitely green. The gearbox uses MT94 if manual (can't remember the colour) and ATF (red) if Auto and, finally, the coolant is pink. What a beautiful combination. Not sure if it helps though.

Dunno what colour Non-Cold Climate PAS Fluid is, we only use the cold stuff!!
