You can paint them with normal satin black as long as you use plastic primer first. The paint doesn't really need to be that flexible as the plastic is a bit hard.
Make sure you give them a really good clean to get rid of the oil/silicone first and get a good supply of screws to fit them back on as the old ones will have rusted to dust.

Well used old engine oil works a treat. Well known in the rubber-bumpered MG community.
Don't ask me how but having been applied then polished off it won't leave nasty stains or grease marks if you brush against it in your best dancin' slacks.

Can you get 'Armourall' in the UK? That back to black stuff is nothing more than a spray-on silicone and is a temporary fix.....plus it's sticky & attracts dust and dirt.
The Amourall hand spray has a very good UV barrier and lasts much longer. With progressive use my black plastic still looks great.
Something else for the shopping list when you get to Dubai Darren! Available from most auto outlets here and even supermarkets!

Streaky.
PS.......anything else you're looking for whilst I'm at it?:)
