ho how often do you change the oils and fluids and filters on a discovery td5 automatic 2002 es model
Engine 12000 miles or 12 months so ive been told
Transferbox ?
Diff ?
And are there any more oils or fluids i have to change or top up to keep my vehicle running smooth thanks :rolleyes:

Personally, I think the longer service intervals are only in place to please the leasing companies as it makes overall service costs less. I tend to do a 6000mile oil change, changing the rotary filter at this point but not the conventional filter, changing both at the 12000mile.
As in another thread, I use a 5/40W synthetic at about £15 litre so the cost isn't great and it makes me feel happier.
I've put synthetic oils from Difflock in the gearbox and transfer which are supposed to be good for 48000 miles. I know this might sound inconsistent, but the oil in the engine takes a h**l of a battering so I think a more regular change makes good sense.
Also the engine oil change is dead easy, the rotary filter is easily accesible and comes out a treat.

Completely agree, other than £15 a litre!!!

ive just had a gasket done on my transfer box and new diff plugs and they changed the oils then so that should be alright for a bout 5 yrs the miles that i do cheers
