Hi All,

Looking through paddocks website tonight and noticed they were selling new chassis for Defenders for under a grand. How does no-one offerreplacement chassis's for Discos or rangies? Too difficult? Not enough interest?

I think replacement chassis do exist for both the Disco 1 and Range Rover Classic as both share the same chassis. The company manufacturing the replacement chassis is no other than Land Rover themselves if I am remembering right, via the thing that they have going about genuine replacement parts for Range Rover Classics and Discos.

You mean 'Classic Parts' and are extreamly expensive

Can't find a website for them, just curious as all rovers suffer from it,so why only offer it for one model in a mass market?

Cheers,
Iain

Can't comment of their complete chassis but I bought some 90 chassis parts from them some years ago. They couldn't have been more helpful, they even helped me out with some salvage parts as well and advice on welding.

e-mailed Designa last night and this was their reply today:

Yes we have thought about this. We are in the process of making a Range Rover Classic Chassis,
up to " Air Bag " stage. Due date late June/July. A few alterations will enable us to make the Disco Chassis.
The price will be £ 1375 + Vat.
Thanks Designa-Chassis

Seems it's only a matter of time

I've a mate down south who runs a 300 disco on a galvy chassis. The thing is mint.

.....now if only someone could come up with an affordable galvanised shell for classics and discos.....that's what seems to kill most of them off:rolleyes:
