I have a 96' disco stuck in park. Has anyone ever ran across this problem before???? I have talked to one guy that said he has seen them do this when the ABS circuit doesn't get a signal to shut off. If this is true does anyone have a schematic or wire breakdown they can lend????? Please help..... Thanks

Is your Disco a Jap import ? If it is the most likely cause of this is the shift interlock solenoid that releases when you switch the ignition on.Best thing to do is to remove the solenoid altogether - it is not fitted to UK cars.

so maybe just a bad solenoid???? Then why is the ABS light mysteriously on now?

The 2 issues would only be related by low battery voltage - is your battery stuffed?
