The priestman hasn't been down the bottom end, Peter's changed his mind and doesn't want to take it down so it's become financial. When we can afford it (other priorities at the moment, such as the new FV432 being delivered on Wednesday) we are going to hire a stump grinder for a weekend. hopefully before the Difflocker thing.

ps, as you were driving to the site Guy, Col and myself were driving in the opposite direction, we did wave but clearly you didn't see us.

Shame about the 360, be good if something could be done before the Difflock thing as that could really put you on the map if it goes well :)

Hi Plynlimon, I am sure there's plenty of room as they're looking for lots of numbers, as it's sort of a Difflock thing so best follow the above and sign up :D

I am in Colwyn Bay (Rhos) - if you ever fancy some laning just give me a shout

Hi Dave
I do fancy doing a bit of laning as soon as Ive finished the repairs to my brothers 200tdi Disco, just replaced the rear body crossmember and rear floor (nice job ). Mine is still on road tires at the moment but will improve things as and when the pocket allows.
Ive not really done much laning before but do have a little offroad experience with the works Defender driving across the moors and forest tracks down in the Hafren Forest.
I will get my application in with the Difflock site ASAP.

Cheers
Dave (yet another one:):))

Nice one Dave, noticed you have signed up on Difflock to play in the woods, should be a great weekend, very tempted to go back myself...

Was on road(ish) tyre for a while, plenty of lanes out there were it's not a huge problem, particulalry in this hot weather. Just make sure you get some decent tow points before playing in the mud  :D :D :D :D

I said some rude words today!
Having just bought some lovely and quite substantial swivelling tow eyes from Famous Four Ltd with the intent of fitting them front and rear,:D:D Ive run out of time. :( Work has now decided to send me to The Royal Welsh Showground tomorrow and Friday to set up a demonstration experiment for the show. Then its down to see the "Mrs" in Loughborough at the weekend and finally I get to spend all next week working in the Peak District setting up another experiment...so they aint gonna get fitted by next weekend. Looks like no big mud baths for me then....:(

Well I went down and watched a rally special stage they were holding down there. Didn't get to walk round too much, a tad dangerous!

But it was good to catch up with Matt and I got 1 or 2 reasonable photos too! It was a 2 minute stage down and up the main bit of hill. Was great fun to watch! Think I need to work on my shutter speeds though, pics are a tad blurred!

Nice but those boy racers wouldn't have got far in the mud :D :D

Nice one, we'll have to sort some laning for you next week (or the one after).

That would be nice Dave, Im actually going to be around most of this week but am off to see the "Mrs" in Loughborough on Friday so cant make it this coming weekend. If you can make it one evening this week Im game. Dont mind which we do Corwen or Betws....you know em better than I. :D

Disco Dave:rolleyes:

Not usually home from work till 7 so evenings aren't good however if I can get away I'll PM you, should be able to do Betws easily in under 2 hours, its only a couple of lanes...

The second lane is fun but includes scraping a bit of vegetation on the way up and a very rockey descent. You should be fine in a standard Disco however there's always a chance of some damage when doing any laning - it's only the first few dents and t-cutting that hurts

If we can't sort out an evening just start a new post here when you're next free on a weekend and someone will get you fixed up :D

LOL

You fancy doing it again without popping a side wall?

Just thinking of Betws not up to the lake - still if we pick a sunny evening (not Firday or Thursday) it will be fun :D
