This might sound really stupid, but it doesn't say in the brochure and Google searches didn't bring anything up ..
Are the panels on a Freelander aluminium ? like the Disco/Rangey ? I'm looking right now for a nice one to buy, and just want to know how hard I should look for rust.
Cheers, Simon

I think the front wings are plastic, but I'm not sure.

Stephen, you are right, the front wings are Plastic bendy things. I couldn't say about the rest, but either way, steel or ali, it is worth looking for any form of corrosion, (excuse spelling!!!) or accident damage.

Thanks guys, I 'll have to get a good look over that lot then, plastic panels can cause paint cracking if they ever get bent even slightly.
The search begins this weekend ! cheers

The Freelander is a Steel Monocoque construction, like a standard car. However the front wings are bendy pastic - they work really well, the paint won't come of. Go to your nearest dealer and get him to show you on a new one, he will, he knows it works well too.
