Has anyone had an LPG conversion done on a 2.5 V6 Freelander. Any problems or suggestions on this would be welcome :)

Not personally .. but I've seen a couple being done by a local converters. They really run well on it too, though it is slightly tricky to setup.

You can fit a 100 litre cylinder tank under the back without comprimising ground clearance also, though this does require the rear exhaust section modifying. Best bet is to have a new piece made up from stainless so it will last forever then :)

I know 2 installers, one in the Cambs are and the other in Ross on Wye, who have experience installing these - probably get you a discount too ! just shout if these are convenient to you.

Thanks for that, I have been investigating the possibility of having it done but there does seem to be a problem with 2001 MY onwards. I dont know the exact details but its related to the HDC and something about it engaging at higher speeds and destroying part of the gearbox and its a conversion that had to be removed from some 2001 MY ones that had been done. I know about the rear floor section being cut out and a flat plate inserted and I was told a 90l tank would then go underneath but so far I havent had much joy on exactly what happens to the rear exhaust as some suggest just pipe straight through and others suggest a smaller box inline to still give the same silencing as before. I would appreciate the phone numbers of the ones you know so I can call and ask them for specific details on which MY freelanders they have done. Thanks

Well this guy was doing a nearly new one last week I think even .. Toby his name is, and he knows me quite well :) give him a call on 07967 557359.

No reason the HDC engaging should be effected by anything either, without the switch down and the gear in 1st/R it should not come on ever. If that really was causing it then it was wired up very badly wrong !

The floda isn't listed on the Powershift register, but try http://www.amrautos.co.uk/Conversions.htm who seem to be doing them.
