Damn thing packed up yesterday :( better organise that spare quickly I think. Very fortunately I had _just_ got the EKA code from LR for the car, but the newly cut key which the missus had doesn't work the door very well ! I had to drive up and rescue her.
Problem was simple to fix, 2 of the 3 lugs on the battery cover had come off the board and required soldering. It is not coming off again now :) Re-coding isn't a problem when the battery has been out either, it retains the code - you just have to blip it quickly 5 or more times to re-sync it to the cars ECU.
Simon.
PS. I'm glad you said take those Ski's off .. they're up to 51 quid on e-bay already ! :)

Oh, the joys of not having central locking... :p
Wait until the last few minutes on E-bay, sometimes the price can double...

Up to 62 now - if it keeps going at this rate you'll get 850 quid for them
:goofylook

Looks like you're not far off either .. wow ! what do these things cost new ? I'd not pay 25 quid for this pair even !

Don't say that too loudly, the bidders might visit this forum... :buck:
(mass removal of bids.... )

I don't know, that kind of stuff normally costs an arm and a leg from a LR dealer...
Biddings at 77 now - shall we take bets on the winning bid?:p

Well, at this rate, and with so many days yet left to run, you could be rich...
The bidding might be higher than buying them new, since you offered to fit them if they come to collect. A lot of people don't like to get their hands dirty... :p

No no ... I don't mean they're not worth that :) sure they're 300+ from LR .. just that _I_ wouldn't pay that for any of them ..

Yes, fixed the existing remote fairly quickly, simple bit of soldering :) Should be getting the new one tomorrow so I'll nip down to LR and have them program it into the ECU for me.
Cheers, Simon.

Just got back from coding the fob in, only charged me for 15 mins labour ! and I sat on their lovely leather sofa and drank their columbian coffee whilst they did it :) I could really get used to living with the green oval :yay:

hmm, which garage did you go to, they seem far to nice to be a main dealer... :p

Marshalls in Cambridge .. I think *most* people who go in there are buying 'shinies' ..

Marshalls do have a reasonably good reputation, my fathers old boss use to use the one in Peterborough, but again for the new Range Rover... the farm hacks went to the local garage...

Yes, they do have a good reputation. Not cheap for buying cars (used cars they sell are typically 20% more than elsewhere - all brands)
They even just called me to check it was all OK still ! service really is everything isn't it .. other main stealers I've dealt with just never could care about you. Took me 3 different dealers until I finally got the brakes sorted under warranty on a Peugeot (*spit*) we once owned ... it tried to jump in the ditch if you hit the brakes hard !

You must have kept scareing it when you hit the brakes, hence why it was wanting to get in the ditch... :p
