Disco 200tdi stalling

My Disco 200tdi has just started to stall when braking to a stop.
If I brake very gently the engine just drops to tickover and runs fine. If I brake heavier then the engine will cut out just before coming to a stop. It will restart immediately and be ok until the next time i brake more than gently.
When sat with the engine running I can press the brake pedal up and down without it affecting the tickover, I have noticed that when doing this after a few presses the pedal goes very hard.
Any ideas on why shes cutting out please?

Is this an Auto? if so check your gearbox fluid level, And the brakes will go hard if you press the pedal a few times so thats normal..

Sorted the problem now thanks.
It turns out that the immobiliser is playing up.
