anyone ever owned one?...
"Mercedes-Benz products have traditionally been rather soulless models of efficiency, vehicles to be admired and respected rather than liked irrationally. The G-Wagen is no exception to this rule."

There are quite easy to pick up now for a reasonable price. I thought about buying one for green laning. But then I'd have to leave the LR club I'm in - which is most of the fun. The German army use them, so they are probably quite good. No doubt the quality will be excellent.

No comment, well okay, they are not that great, have driven them in the past, and I was not impressed, it felt very heavy to drive and even though the engine was more powerful, it didn't seem to have the get up and go of a Landie, which is saying something. I think they are going to stop production soon by the way as demand has dropped so much over the last couple of years.

You dont see many on the road but they look pretty good when you see them though!
Has anyone ever put a Landy and a GWagon head to head?

In one of the Landy mags a guy has done a GW up to take on the others off road and does very well. They have locking diffs as standard and the 5 litre V8 is quite quick.
